What does a company keep after an FDE project ends?

Five things: a problem list, a target process, an embedded tool, a measurement basis, and the ability to keep improving. The hand-over test is that the client's own staff can run the tool and reproduce the key results.

The problem list is often the first systematic view a company gets of the waste in its own work.
The measurement basis answers "how much time and cost did this save" in a way that can be recomputed and traced.
