How long does an on-site FDE engagement take?

It depends on scope: a single product module usually takes two to four weeks — a tax risk scan is about 13 delivery days, a management dashboard about 9.5 — while a full internal audit is about 66.5 days, roughly eight weeks through seven stages, followed by about three months of run-in.

The seven stages: engagement and authorisation; data capture and staging; automated testing and working papers; on-site verification; conclusions and report; controls and remediation tracking; tool hand-over and training.
On-site verification usually takes more than half the effort: stock counts, confirmations and interviews have to be done in person and cannot be compressed.
For a first engagement, start with one module and extend once it works.
